Behind the scenes
Do and Tessel de Heij are two creative souls behind Amsterdam beer brand: Gebrouwen door Vrouwen, which means ‘Brewed by women’ in Dutch. Sisters started brewing beer in 2013 as a hobby: at home in the kitchen, in a big pan, 20 litres at a time. Two years later, in 2015 they already brewed bigger batches and supplied bars and restaurants. A dream came true! Their mission is to create really good craft beers and have a lot of fun making (and drinking) them (check Gebrouwen door vrouwen facebook page for proofs).
Gin Weizen is a white beer of 6%, with a lot of barley and wheat malt. Tasty sweet and fresh. The special flavor comes from the gin herbs (juniper, orange peel and coriander seeds), which are added to the beer.
Bloesem Blond is a blond beer with elderflower. The elderflower gives the beer a flowery aroma and a fresh taste. The perfect beer to celebrate the summer!
Tricky Tripel was one of the first beers that sisters brewed at home, a though guy because of all of the malt that’s in it. It has a lot of herbs and is quite sweet, which makes this beer very popular with the girls!
